Ailucne HD1 has been on the market for 7 years. As we all know, this ham radio is a true Dual Band band (UHF / VHF) DMR handheld that can be used as either an FM analog transceiver or Tier II DMR digital.
1, A few weeks ago, I received my Ailunce HD1. The radio itself is high-quality. Very excellent and a very durable radio.
It has taken some hard falls, but now looking at my HD1, there is no scratches, marks, or blemishes of any kind, and it looks just like how I took it out of the box.
Something nice to add though is the IP67 rating. I have experienced heavy rains with the radio and it has held up just fine.
2, I have been a ham radio operator for many years. I ordered this Ailunce HD1 when it just released around one week. Because I love playing with all of new radios that come out.
About the quality of the radio itself. This amateur radio HD1 is rock solid. It is built very rugged. I don't feel like I cound break it even if I tired. It is waterproof, and yes, this got put to the test in a rainy storm.
It is a little heavier that is because it is built to withstand the beating that we sometimes give our equipment. When you are holding this Ailunce HD1 in your hand, you feel like you have something that is going to last.
Lot of people will think the ham radio with lots of functions, so will not friendly to the beginners. But Ailunce HD1, if you have, you will know how to use it. And as a ham, I have lots of funs from operating this radio.
People sometimes are afraid of code plugs and configuring DMR radios. Retevis offers the free software and firmware for us to download. And there are many Youtube videos to talk about this handheld radio. So it is very easy.
And DMR was a new challenge, if you have never used a DMR radio, but I'd like to learn this technology. Once I have this down, it was easy to configure.
Because it certainly does an excellent job and offers a combination of features, nearly impossible to find a single radio.
