In the previous article we briefly talked about the differences between the Retevis NR30 and the Retevis P2. Today we are going to compare some differences between Retevis P2 and Retevis NR30.
Before explaining the specifics, we need to know how to differentiate the different versions of these two models by their names. In the popular Business Series, this distinction exists for the models (RB89 / RB689; NR30 / NR630; p2/p62) which are all named in this way in the existing long range walkie-talkies. Looking at them in detail, it is easy to see that the models without the number "6" are all in the GMRS band. Those with the number "6" are non-GMRS radios. At present, you can distinguish the three models (rb89/rb689; nr30/nr630; p2/p62) by this method. There is no difference in appearance or features between the different versions except for the difference in frequency bands.
Because the difference between P2 and NR30 is basically the same as P62 and NR630. The difference is that both P2/NR30 are GMRS radios. So in order to better understand the difference between the two; you can refer to the previous (Difference between P62 and NR630). Here are some simple differences.
P2 is receiver-side noise reduction. Noise reduction is performed only at the receiver side.
NR30 is two-way AI noise reduction. It is noise reduction at both the receiver and transmitter side.
On the top of the NR30, there is a one-button group call button, through which you can realize the rapid transmission of messages in the group.
The P2 has a one-touch frequency pairing function. It can quickly copy the frequency and settings of the units, and can realize the fast interoperability of different units when needed.
Compared with NR300, P2 has an additional fall alarm function. It is able to detect the fall of a person and send out an alarm.
P2 has IP68 waterproof rating, NR30 has IP67 waterproof rating, IP68 can meet higher waterproof requirements.
The NR30 has a slight edge with a 2800mAh battery compared to the P2's 2500mAh, which means that the NR30 is likely to have a longer battery life under prolonged use. However, both models support Type-c charging, which can provide more convenient charging options.
We recommend the P2 for indoor and outdoor use in homes, buildings, and water-related scenarios such as beach rescues; the NR30 is recommended for noisy outdoor music festivals, transportation, and events.
