Retevis RT86S Business Handheld Radio was introduced primarily to make it easier for business users to use. With the goal of simplicity and ease of use, it comes with a screen and buttons. So, what enhancements does it offer in terms of functionality? This article will answer that question for you.
We are well aware that the main role of walkie-talkies is to facilitate communication. However, in practice, we often encounter the challenge of not being able to intercommunicate quickly. This may be due to sub-tone or frequency issues. But in a business environment, timely communication often means higher productivity.
To optimize the ease of communication, RT86S introduces the following four features.
This feature operation enables analog walkie-talkies with compatible frequency bands but different frequencies to talk to each other directly on a single channel without the use of a computer. With antenna, interval 0.5m-1.5m, pairing time about 15 seconds. (Only transmit and receive frequencies are paired, not CTCSS/DCS)
a. Receiver: under the state of power off, long press PTT key and turn on the power at the same time, wait for 3 seconds, the walkie-talkie will make three beeps, the indicator light will light up red and green alternately, and the walkie-talkie will broadcast the current channel. Release the PTT key to turn on the radio.
b. Transmitter. Turn on the radio and tune to the target channel, press the PTT key near the receiver to transmit and enter the single channel pairing mode. When the indicator light of the receiver turns from red to green and a beep sound is heard, the pairing is successful and saved. After pairing is completed, communication is possible. If there is only one channel, this channel can communicate directly. If paired with other channels, the radio switches to the next channel and repeats the operation until the desired channel is paired successfully.
This function operates to realize multiple RT86S stations with different settings, and all channels can communicate directly without using a computer.
a. Press and hold the PF2 key of the receiver and turn on the radio at the same time. The indicator light blinks green and three beeps are heard, the intercom enters the receive mode.
b. Press and hold the PF1 key of the transmitter and turn on the radio at the same time. The indicator light flashes red and three beeps are heard, the intercom enters transmit mode.
c. Press the transmitter's PTT key. The indicator light flashes red and the radio is transmitting data. Turn the intercom on again to exit this mode.
d.The receiver indicator light flashes green and the radio is receiving data. When reception is complete, the radio will restart.
Long press the [MENU] key to turn on the radio in the off state, and hear a “beep”, CTCSS/DCS is closed (all channels CTCSS/DCS is closed), repeat the operation and hear two “beeps”, CTCSS/DCS is open (all channels CTCSS/DCS). Repeat to hear two “beeps” and CTCSS/DCS turns on (all channels CTCSS/DCS).
This is mainly designed for people who already have RT86 to quickly realize the interoperability between old and new radios.
Long press [PF1] + [PTT] key to turn on the radio under the state of power off, and then you will hear “beep” three times, and the channel will be switched to the channel 1-16 of the RT86, and then you can talk with the previous RT86 directly. If you want to switch to RT86S again, just click “Reset” in the menu to initialize the radio.
This function can quickly return your radio to its original factory frequency. In special circumstances, it can quickly realize the communication between two units.
a. Press the [MENU] key to enter the menu, and press the [●] or [●] key to choose RESET.
b. Press the[MENU]key to pop Sure to Reset.
c. Press the[MENU]key to confirm reset.
d. Press the[EXIT]key to cancel the reset.
All 4 of these methods will help you to communicate quickly. Go ahead and try them out!
