Retevis P1 and the Retevis RB24 are both new for 2024. Being that both are capable of long range communication, this article will walk you through some of the main differences between the two.
The Retevis P1 is a DMR radio that utilizes sperhet receiver technology. With AES256 encryption, built-in single frequency relay and 260 hours of recording, the P1 is a great choice for manufacturing, services, transportation, logistics, security and personal communication.
The RB24 is Retevis' first walkie-talkie solution that utilizes the LoRa standard. The biggest feature is to realize the unity of low power consumption and long distance. With a repeater, the communication distance can be expanded by 3-5 times than traditional handheld walkie-talkie under the power consumption of nursery rhyme. It is very suitable for construction sites, basements, warehouses, parking lots, tunnels, subways and buildings where the signal is blocked.
P1 is DMR system and adopts superheterodyne receiver; RB24 is LoRa system.
Different technologies, but both can realize stable signal connection and longer distance communication.

Long Distance
Both Retevis P1 and Retevis RB24 radios are capable of communicating over long distances.
Note; (If from a handheld radio, the communication distance of Retevis P1 is more than RB24; but RB24 can connect 30 LoRa Radios, in this case the communication distance of RB24 is more.)
Repeater function
P1 built-in single-frequency repeater function, can also be connected to an external relay to realize the long-distance communication.
Retevis RB24 LoRa radio built-in repeater function. It can be easily connected to up to 30 LoRa RB24 Radios to extend the communication range and distance, which is convenient for long-distance communication.
Encryption
P1 adopts AES256 encryption, which is compatible with Motorola radios.
RB24 adopts LoRa knowledge and only interoperates with LoRa radios.
Above is the main difference between P1 and RB24. Because they are different systems, they can be used in different scenarios, the P1 is more suitable for manufacturing, construction and logistics, etc. The RB24 is more suitable in buildings, subways, tunnels, and other scenarios where there are signal obstructions. Hope this article can help you.
