In 2025, the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Retevis sincerely invites radio enthusiasts around the world to participate in the "Amateurs Helping Each Other" event to promote the spirit of amateur radio. The event will take place from April 11-18, 2025. On World Amateur Radio Day, we celebrate Retevis' 100 years of innovation, community building and advocacy, which are the efforts that have enabled radio to grow from a hobby to a global lifeline.
In 1925, radio pioneers came together in Paris to form the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU), saving amateur radio from being marginalized in the battle for shortwave spectrum. Their efforts secured the frequency allocations we use today and laid the foundation for 3 million licensed radio enthusiasts around the world. From emergency communications to technological breakthroughs, amateur radio enthusiasts have made history - Retevis is proud to continue this tradition.
