MattI have used quite a few HT radios and this one is one of my favorites. Bought this one because it is more durable and waterproof. I wanted a device that I could take into the woods and take with me while working. But I didn't expect it to be so good. First off, the speakers are some of the best I've heard on an HT device. The volume is louder than most radios and the clarity is great. Even at high volumes it doesn't seem to distort the sound like other radios do. - The microphone seems to be great too. Tested with other radios and seems crisper. Also got positive feedback from others when testing the radio with the repeater asking which one sounded better. Others on the radio responded that the clarity was better and the sound was crisp. The only problem is that I hope to cooperate with chirp as soon as possible to support chirp writing frequency, which will be more convenient.

It is well built and I liken it to a Motorola handheld. It's just beefy and feels great in the hand. This radio has great sound (maybe too much base) for some, but it works well for me and the clarity is great both in receive and transmit. It's super easy to program without the software, but the optional programming cable makes it easier. I am able to talk on repeaters 20 plus miles from home without issue. One small issue not advertised is that the USB programming cable works great with Windows 10, but hit and miss on Windows 11. Would I buy it again, of course? In my opinion, it is a simple robust handheld that won't disappoint and works very well.CatherineBought 2 and couldn't be happier with them. This model has the best UI and speakers I've seen in a sub-$100 radio, and actually beats some $200-$300 radios (in my opinion). Mine has been dropped from waist height onto hard surfaces multiple times and doesn't show any wear. My only complaint is that they only come in black, I'd really like to see them in safety green or something like that.mark1I wanted a dedicated GMRS radio and Revetis met my needs perfectly. I also own several other Revetis HT radios such as the RA89 and R3TS. The radio feels solid and well made. It's also the right weight as you can feel the radio fits perfectly in my hand. Let me start by telling you that if you are looking for a GMRS only HT then this is the one for you. I tested this radio using the original rubber duck antenna on a Surecom SWR meter and the SWR was perfect. I'm about to send/receive to all local repeaters with no problem. There is a local repeater about 40 miles from home and I can hit it pretty well, the sound is good and there is very little static. Note that this is for the stock antenna.
