DragonNice small radio and definitely line of site only.Reviewed on Feb 11,2025Great for the price. I have used them with a repeater to talk 40 miles, but the repeater is doing the work to make that contact. Direct from handheld to handheld, you will be lucky to get a mile. At the UHF frequencies, signals are block by almost everything... trees, leaves, houses, etc. Might be ok car to car if you are staying close.Steve Lowrieif you are looking for intercom system with no wires neededReviewed on Feb 06,2025will go thru walls few hundred yards . not long rangeBarry RobinsonNo problemsReviewed on Jan 28,2025Great little personal com radios for the family when we go out and I don't have to worry much about interference. You can program them yourselves with nearly and infinite number of frequencies and codes. 900 MHz at one watt will go a decent distance and works well through obstacles and wall but don't think you're going to get stellar performance. In perfect conditions you'll probably get a mile, much less in stores and obstacles and less still if you're surrounded by metal. That's just the way radios work.BoActual secure ISM radio communication.Reviewed on Jan 26,2025Wanted short range digitally encrypted communication without upsetting the FCC. I get about a mile or so point to point in an urban setting. So what's the big deal about ISM band radios? Privacy tones just keep people from butting in to your conversation by making the radio ignore transmissions that don't have the tone. Encryption actually prevents others from hearing you, but it's not legal for frs and murs. It is legal for the ISM band.J.M.B.Got these for 33cm ham useReviewed on Jan 16,2025They work great, easy to program especially if you have done DMR radios. Great way to try the 33cm band.Gadget~I LOVE THEMReviewed on Jan 13,2025My photos show the size compared to a soda can and a Uniden scanner. NOTE: I'm using a stubby antenna on this radio. The original antenna is a six inch whip. Software is easy to use and these radios offer encryption! I tested it out using a Uniden scanner with DMR option. The scanner picks up regular dmr frequencies and shows the color code and slot number. If I switch to a channel that I've encrypted and put the scanner on the same frequency, I may hear a quick garbled sound at first, then silence! It's not a scrambler, it is truly an encryption. I love these radios. I purchased 4 total. I would have like to have seen a usb c port in the radio or battery as some manufacturers have incorporated, but no complaints. I've only used to test on a 1/4 mile drive. Took one radio and left one home. Windows up in the truck. Worked flawlessly. Great job Retevis!abcGood valueReviewed on Jan 13,2025I bought it from another site that has them on sale for 67.00 dollars and free shipping. It arrived in three days. I would recommend buying a programming cable. Mine is for a different radio and is outdated and only works on xp machines. I’ve ordered a new one.DonImpressive radioReviewed on Jan 11,2025I bought one of these a week ago. I was able to program it in the ham bands with ease using an old programming cable from another radio brand. Win 10 refused to work with the old cable. I ended up using an old xp laptop. It worked great.Ben Hgood 900 Mhz digital radioReviewed on Jan 08,2025The RT10 is a 900Mhz radio from Retevis. It has a feeling of being well built. it is bigger than the Baofeng radio that i have a few of. The audio quality is better than other radios I have used.Ty McMahanWork great!Reviewed on Jan 01,2025This is THE handheld to get for cheap 900 MHz ham radio. The con is that this package does NOT include the programming cable, however it is the dual pin TRS cable that many Retevis, Radioddity, and other Chinese radios use (the Prolific serial driver is used). I had this radio codeplug programmed and on the air with my one local 900 MHz repeater working a few minutes.
