GSThey work very wellReviewed on Apr 12,2025With the proper antennas, those handhelds work well over a mile on even terrain. The harmonic suppression is within the manufacturers specifications. The actual output power at 900MHz is 1.12 watts and at 945 MHz it is .9 watts. A nice alternative HT when the FRS/GMRS band if swamped because of an ongoing event.StanDMR Digital For Crystal Clear Line-Of=Sight CommunicationReviewed on Apr 09,2025It great radio along with full wave flexible antenna for much better Gain than short standard antenna. Depending on line-of-sight to indoor's and outdoor's in neighborhood, the range is from quarter mile to more than 2 miles.HannaPlenty of analog/DMR frequenciesReviewed on Apr 05,2025The distance is short limit to couple miles, ( compared to 446, 223 or 146 mhz) but performs great in that area. Dmr program is easy and adds more secure conversations. I did program a few amateur ham freqs. for repeaters. Also can connect outside antenna, but at 1 watt keep coax 5foot or less.Nick CarriganEncrypted radio traffic on the cheapReviewed on Apr 05,2025This model supports Dual-slot DMR which means it delivers a higher quality of digital signal. As long you're within range of each other the audio quality should be excellent.Leounicorn radiosReviewed on Mar 30,2025Not many 900Mhz radios to choose from. These are 1w DMR and analog, although I don't think part 15 allows for 900Mhz analog transmissions. Good range and clarity.Steve N4IRSWorks great at 927 MHz Too bad they discontinued them.Reviewed on Mar 24,2025It's a basic no display 128 channel (8 zones of 16 channels) Analog / DMR radio. Programming was not too bad. I can't select low power in the programming SW. I have only tested on DMR with a hotspot, (tweaking that to get a decent BER was fun) so no comments on range etc. I have seen the antenna comments. I will put the radio on a station monitor, but I don't have DMR support so I can only test analog. I know Retevis is not going to sell a ton of these but not bad. I think I'll buy some extra batteries.cavalierdogThis might be the deal of the centuryReviewed on Mar 02,2025I bought a pair for use in Field Day, but they do this and so much more. (I'm speaking to licensed hams here.) These cover the entire 902-MHz band and can either operate in analog or DMR mode. I haven't been close enough to the 902 repeaters around here but I plan to try them out there also. These are in a clean, tight, rugged package that would fit on a belt, or a purse, or a dashboard of the truck. I liked the pair I got so much that I bought another pair of them for a ham friend's girlfriend who was newly licensed. So they have a 'private' channel to talk as they camp around the country. I don't know about the Part 15 (unlicensed) aspect of using these, since I don't need to know that, but 902 MHz is inherently such short range that you probably won't bother anyone.Trenton EarnestGreat radio needs better softwareReviewed on Mar 01,2025The software is decent but lacks advanced features. Basic functionality works well, though more options would be better.BRJNice Radios For The PriceReviewed on Feb 28,2025These radios work very well, and they are usable right out of the box. Programming software works perfectly. Expect maybe a half mile range with these radios, give or take, which is not a problem for general use. So far I've had no interference using these radios, but I live in a rural area. The 33cm band (900MHz) is interesting, and being able to play with it this cheaply is pretty cool.Paul PlackGreat Looking, Solid Feeling HandheldReviewed on Feb 24,2025I bought a pair of these radios to learn more about the 902-928 MHz band's propagation and interference levels, evaluate the potential of the band for linking between repeater sites, and to get my first taste of DMR. I was also happy to see they can be programmed for 25 kHz channels in analog mode, which is legal for hams and important to testing I want to do.
