Retevis RB26 Flashlight GMRS Radio 6 Pack With Program Cable

Purchased primarily for home use as an intercom system. I have two kids upstairs and my wife & I use them as an intercom system, rather than our loud voice to get their attention! One in each of three bedrooms, one in the kitchen, and one in my downstairs office! :-)

Range of 4 or 5 blocks in dense urban area.Took a set of these to Jamaica so family could keep in touch, worked great.

It’s much better one than last set we got it from other company. Battery life is longer. 3 days using it straight without charging so far. And super crystal sound.

Good product . Works really nicely with the retevis gmrs repeater. It's the wow factor in the radio that really makes me and my family happy. In town and in the woods the performance speaks for itself . Retevis really knows what there doing and it's an awesome company have bought all the gmrs models they make . I won't do that if I didnt thank retevis wasn't up for the challenge . I put the radio thru alot of harsh environments . They hold up and keep me and my family safe .

If all you want is to talk to the other radios in the box, then ignore everything else I have to say. If you want to communicate with other people in a group who have a mix of different radios, then read on.The programming software is available on Retevis' website and is easy to use. The cable from my UV-5R worked perfectly for programming the RB26. You'll need to use the programming software to get the full potential out of these radios because out of the box all channels are set to narrow band and have CTCSS/DCS tones set (this is described in the manual so it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone). The squelch is set way too high at 5 out of the factory. The programming software is the only way to change settings on this radio.Once this radio is set up how you want it, you can confidently hand it to anyone and know that they can't "mess up the settings". You can also add more RB26 units to the group at any time using the wireless copy function to set up a new out of the box unit with your settings. Even though the antenna is short, I can hit the local repeater and a more distant repeater that I can't normally raise with my GM-15 Pro that has a larger antenna. The RB26 isn't a "do all" GMRS radio for everyone, but it works well as a single-purpose radio for a fixed environment like an event or camp out or as part of a coordinated group. This is a very easy-to-use radio with good, clear audio.

As walkie talkies, these are great! I plan to use them for hiking with friends and being out of cell range. The sound quality and distance they cover is impressive for sure!

We've been wanting some walkie talkies for our family to use. These seem pretty good so far. They have a good range, we didn't have issues with feedback, the sound quality has been good, and it let us know when one wasn't turned off and the battery was getting low. We like the docking station for these.
