If you still don't know more about RA87 mobile two-way radio,  I will make a brief introduction.
RA87 is a high-power mobile radio, with the GMRS band (22 GMRS channels and 8 GMRS repeater channels) rugged mobile walkie-talkie.

Note: When you use this RA87 as a high-power GMRS mobile radio, this off-road mobile radio's power will reach 40W when the power is 13.8Volt and 10 Ampere.

It has some buttons and with the speaker mics. In this blog I will introduce these buttons, to help you get familiar with your off-road mobile radio RA87.

Buttons on RA87 GMRS Mobile radio

There are 6 buttons below the display. I will introduce them one by one from left to right.

 BUTTONS ON RETEVIS RA87 GMRS BAND MOBILE RADIOS

1, Volume and Squelch Knob.
This Knob has two parts. one outside and another inside. The outside part is the Volume function and the inner part is the Squelch knob.

Easy to understand the Volume knob, Adjust this button, and you may increase or decrease volume. You may adjust it by yourself.
Squelch Knob, when you use this function, first you need to anti-clockwise rotate the knob until the display shows the icon.

2, Speaker Mic Jack

RA87 Mobile Radio comes with an Integrated microphone, this jack connects with the speaker mic.

3, Call key

You may set a frequency as the Call channel. Or you may set the 1750 tones by this button

4, VFO mode

Press this button you will enter the VFO mode. When in VFO mode, you may change the frequency easily. If you long-press this button, it will activate the scan,

5, MR key

You may press this button to enter into the Memory channel. When you long-press this key, it will start scanning the MR frequencies.

6, Low Key

Press this key, you may adjust the output power. If you want to adjust some channels' power, you may switch to this channel, then press the Low key to adjust the power. Another function of this key is the Reverse frequency function.

7, Fun Key

When you press it, you will enter the function menu. But if you long-press it, it will enter into a lock or unlock function.

8, Mhz Key

When you are in VFO mode, press this button, it will adjust the frequency with step 1mhz. When you are in MR mode, press this button, and it will enter into Menu.

1, PTT button
When you want to transmit, press this button, and it will transmit.

2, Down Key

Down Key, press to change the frequency, channel number, etc.

3, Call key

The same function as the RA87 radio button. This key also can be defined with other functions.
4, VFO key

It means VFO key. This key also can be defined with other functions.

5, MR key

It means Memory Key. This key also can be defined with other functions.

6, PF key

Short press you may edit the VFO frequency. This key also can be defined with other functions.

7, Up Key

The same function as the Down Key

8, Number Key

This is the DTMF keypad. You may program your radio with channel number, frequency, and others.
